Description

Flexi-Dam is a non-latex dental dam for use in all procedures where traditional rubber dam products are used. The elasticity of Flexi-Dam is greater than that of latex with a high tear resistance. This product has a textured surface that enhances the grip on the material. The violet color of Flexi-Dam makes for easy identification versus other dam material. It is powder-free and odorless and has a shelf-life of at least four years.

Product Features

Features such as resistance to tear, ease of use, flexibility, and “safe for latex allergic patients” received high ratings from consultants. They found the handling, punching of holes and placement of Flexi-Dam to be excellent. The textured surface contributes to the ease of use. It adapts well and has good tissue displacement. Several consultants mentioned that the 15cm precut squares of dam material are larger than usually needed and suggested making it available in rolls. No adverse odor or taste was noted.

Clinical Tips

•The manufacturer recommends using holes one size smaller than ordinarily used.
•Chloroform (used for softening of gutta percha) will cause deterioration of the dam.
